Super Couponing Swap

Do you have coupons you don’t need or need coupons you don’t have? Come to our monthly Super Couponing™ Swap from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at the Huntley Area Public Library.

You’ll have access to our coupon swap boxes to pick up extra coupons you may need. Bring your best receipts to share with the group and don’t forget your coupon file for trading! Register at the library’s Reference Desk.


Lights! Camera! Action!

Tickets are now on sale for the Prairie Singers annual spring concert. The Prairie Singers Present Cine-Music premiers at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30 and at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center on Harmony Road in Huntley. 

The program includes favorite songs from box office hits like Grease, Aladdin, Casablanca, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  A dynamic four-piece instrumental combo and the Sun Tones will add their talents to the show.

Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for children 2-12 years old.  Tickets are sold daily in the Huntley branches of Castle Bank, Citizens Bank, and Harris Bank and at Prairie Lodge in Sun City per posted schedule.

Set your sights

Rockford Center for Sight & Hearing vision rehabilitation therapist Barbara E. Schlomann will speak 10 a.m. Monday, April 18 at a Sun City low vision group.  Schlomann will be demonstrating low vision devices, discussing Center for Sight & Hearing services, and offering New Vision Classes. 

People who have Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, or other low vision challenges are welcome to attend this free event. 

Schlomann holds a Masters of Science from NIU – Vision Impairment Program, and a BA from National-Louis University – Applied Behavioral Science.

This meeting is presented by Sun City Huntley’s Visually Impaired Support and Assistance Group (V.I.S.A.).  The 1 hour presentation starts 10 a.m. sharp at Prairie Lodge’s Drendel Ballroom Breakout Rooms.


Breast Cancer Support Hour

The Breast Cancer Support Hour will gather at Jameson’s in Prairie Lodge for a Luncheon Meeting at noon on Wednesday, May 4. We will order off their luncheon menu and separate checks will be issued.
