How to donate to Huntley Radio at no cost to you

Sounds impossible, doesn’t it? But it’s true, and I’ll tell you how to do it.

You’ve probably done all your holiday shopping by now, but if you still need a few items, you can help contribute to Huntley Radio with your purchases, and it won’t cost you anything. Each time you visit Amazon to shop, go to smile.amazon.com instead of the usual way. The first time you log in you will be asked what charitable organization you wish to support with your purchases. Just type in “Huntley Community Radio” and Amazon will automatically donate .05 percent of your eligible purchases to Huntley Radio. It’s easy, and while the amount is small, it can really add up for Huntley Radio. Thanks, and happy shopping!

By the way, once you are registered, every time you log in to Amazon, it will remember which charity you’ve selected and all future purchases will qualify for the donation to Huntley Radio.

As we enter the New Year, we want to give thanks to all who have made Huntley Radio possible. Every contribution has counted: from the coins placed in our donation cans to a $25,000 donation. The time you’ve given hosting shows on the air, working at our fundraising events, and giving your time and skills keeping us on the air…it has all helped.

Do you remember the old Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland films where they get together with their friends and say “Let’s produce a show!” That’s the naïve way this station started and now we’re on the radio airwaves as WHRU-LP, 101.5 FM and are simulcasting on the Internet. Thanks to everyone’s work we are now a “real” radio station. Isn’t it wonderful?
