This year marks the 15th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, and Sun City will honor each of the 2,976 victims with the placement of one American flag as part of its 9/11 Memorial. Following is the program agenda.

Friday, September 9 – Placement of flags at 9 a.m.; Huntley American Legion plays taps at sunset.
Saturday, September 10 – Huntley American Legion plays taps at sunset.
Sunday, September 11 – 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Memorial Museum in Drendel Ballroom. 1 p.m. Memorial program outside includes: Sun City Marines present colors, 9/11 narrative, songs, readings, community prayer, bagpiper plays “Amazing Grace,” 21-gun salute, and echo taps. 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Memorial Museum in Drendel Ballroom.
Monday, September 12 – Retirement of flags.
