On the 10-year anniversary of that awful day, N.18 included in its commemoration the placing of an American flag by each house. This effort was organized by Julie Schalk and the N.18 Activities Committee. The flags came courtesy of a contribution by Sara Mitchell, who is also the sponsor of the Monarchs softball team.
