Sign up information for Big Bikes Helping Little Tykes

By My Sunday News

Saturday, June 23, rain or shine. Sign up starts at 8 a.m. – Run leaves at 10 a.m.

This run is a sponsor funded ride to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, that is open to all motorcyclists. Each rider should have at least one contributing sponsor. The fee donated is a single fee, not per mile. All donations are given directly to One Step at a Time Camp for Kids. Each rider must turn in a sponsor sheet and donations at the beginning of the run. Prizes are given to the top contributors at the end of the run. Run T-shirts, pins, and hats are available the day of the run.

For more information please contact Bill Humphrey at 708-599-0576 or send an e-mail to info@littletykesrun.com or Kevin O’Meara at 708-599-3027 or send an email to kcrc6810@aol.com.

Kevin and his wife, Cindy, know firsthand what it feels like to be told you have cancer. Kevin was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999. While he was in treatment, he saw an ad for One Step at a Time Camp and said, “I definitely want to organize a run.”

The reason for this motorcycle ride is to raise funds for One Step at a Time Camp, giving children with cancer the opportunity to have a safe, normal, and fun camp experience.

The ride starts at Dukes Drive-In, 8115 S. Harlem Ave, in Bridgeview, IL, and goes to Lake Geneva, WI, where the camp takes place, and you can see firsthand where the donations are going. This ride is made up of 130 miles of back roads in each direction. When we arrive at the camp, there is a presentation with the camp administrator, the kids, and all the riders.
