It took some 40 years for me to put the pieces together on how to get healthy and stay that way. Sometime around 2005 I was starting to get restless. I had stored much information but started to realize my knowledge wasnât helping others.
In the winter while at my Florida home in a Christian R.V. park, we were having a prayer meeting and people were asking for prayer for many serious illnesses. I could feel the frustration. As I prayed, it was as if the Lord spoke to me about teaching healthy eating.
The next summer, I came home, gathered information from all of my massive notes, and began writing my own class material. This took an entire summer. The next step was to find a place to teach here at Sun City. The board âvoted me downâ to teach or to put announcements in our Lifestyle Magazine. I donât know the real reason other than it could have been a conflict of interest with the Wellness Center.
Citizens Bank was very gracious to give me a room, and I have been teaching most of the summers for the past six or seven years. About 300 or so have come through my classes, and many of them have repeated. I teach the month of February in Florida. Starting last March, I have been writing a column, âA Healthier You,â for our local Sun Day paper.
God is so good to use me to help others find a healthier lifestyle.
