An exhibition of talent

By Joanie Koplos

Sun City’s Feeling Great Is Ageless Expo, held on May 22, was highlighted with the swimming performances of 12 Stingray Swim Club members. The chartered club’s program was developed and led by coach Len Lencioni with water aerobic instructor Chris Hinde adding commentary.

While both entertaining and enlightening the audience, the swimmers began their water show with the demo of water aerobic warm-up exercises, necessary to prepare their bodies to swim laps.

They continued their instruction by executing the proper technique of the freestyle stroke and the backstroke, two swim strokes which can be used for both recreational and competitive swimming. Next on Coach Len’s agenda was the use of kicking with fins, displaying the value of using legs properly to help the arms while swimming.

Continuing the Stings’ afternoon water show was the exciting challenge of relay races (both medley/ mixed and freestyle). Displaying their water versatility, the 11 ladies and one gentleman concluded their athletic performance with water polo maneuvers.

If you missed this year’s Stingrays’ performance, make a plan to attend next year’s show. You won’t be disappointed!
