Pennock no longer with Sun City

Osborn serves as interim

SUN CITY – On Sept. 6, Bill Pennock’s role as executive director and his employment by First Service Residential came to an end. First Service and the Sun City Community Association of Huntley Board have chosen Dave Osborn, director of fa¬cility maintenance, to serve as interim executive director.

“We do thank him for his service and we wish him the best,” SCCAH Board President Bonnie Bayser said of Pennock.

Bayser was unable to expand on whether Pennock chose to leave First Service or whether his employment was terminated by the company. Bayser said Osborn was a natural fit as interim executive director, with whom she said the board has a “good working relationship.”

“He’s a director, so he’s got the management experience and knowledge [and] staff know him,” Bayser said of Osborn.

Although it’s possible Osborn will eventually take the full-time executive director position, First Service will screen applicants for the job and pass through those they believe to be the strongest candidates to the board for interviews.

“We want somebody that is people oriented, a good listener, good communicator, has good management skills, and understands finances of large communities,” Bayser said of the qualities the board will look for in a director, adding they’d like to find someone with experience in an active adult community.

Bayser said it is too early to set a timetable for when a new executive director will be named.
