Our founders had one thing foremost in mind, and it runs through every document they left for us: INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM. From 1789, when the constitution was ratified, until 1913 when the Marxists cheated and lied to the American people, telling them that the 16th amendment to our sacred document would only affect the “despised rich,” we enjoyed that personal freedom. They told the people that the income tax would only ever be a two-percent tax and not to worry, only the rich people would ever have to pay an income tax.

As soon as they got the amendment ratified, using gradual chipping away, they made sure that everyone who worked had a portion of their money stripped away and made the employers of our country complicit in the robbing process they called withholding. The Marxists among us knew just how to make the income tax the lever of state.

After 100 years, these “statists” have written 77,000 pages of tax code that even the most knowledgeable IRS employee cannot interpret satisfactorily. Every “tax time” we expend over six billion hours getting things in order so we can conform to regulations written by the IRS, and we spend four billion dollars paying experts to construct a tax return for us. There have been 8,000 amendments since 1986 when they last “reformed” the code, and each amendment gave someone, but not all, a tax break.

This complicated system is just what the Marxists among us wanted, mainly the ones who have gotten elected to congress and wanted complicated systems because complication equals control and control equals personal freedoms taken away.

Quoting the late Ronald Reagan, “Our system of taxation has turned into something completely foreign to our nature – something complicated, unfair, and in a fundamental sense, un-American.”

Those of us who want to remain anonymous and have no interaction with the government are in a constant state of agitation and all we have is the vote to try and relieve that edgy feeling we get when we get any correspondence from the IL Dept. of Revenue or the IRS, not to mention the cost we have to pay to get anything resolved. What a waste of time and resources.

There is a solution, but the political class will resist it because it takes control away from them. Every time an election is coming up, they have made the tax breaks they were paid to enact expire that very year for companies and rich individuals. If no “campaign contribution” is tendered, their “tax extender” or tax break, is allowed to expire. This legal extortion would disappear if they enacted the FairTax, but our freedoms would be restored.

We Agree, A Change is Needed

It does seem that both rational Democrats and Tea Party Republicans agree that a change is needed in Washington and on through our political system. What we don’t agree upon is the nature of that change. What logic indicates is that we in the Fourteenth District need a Congressman who will not vote to close the federal government. We need one who is pledged to support, not oppose, revisions to the tax code to increase fairness for middle class families. One who would pass legislation providing incentives to business to create jobs, extend unemployment benefits, and reform immigration law. We need a Congressman who would work to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid while supporting the Affordable Care Act that has helped so many people. We need a Congressman who will work in cooperation with the Senate to support student-loan refinancing, development of alternative and green energy technologym as well as supporting a woman’s right to choose and receive equal pay for equal work. We are not now so represented, despite what is shouted at us. Even now the Democratic candidate for the 14th District is making personal appearances at multiple town-hall meetings to make effective, personal contact with constituents while our Congressman is sending out his staff members to a few meetings. Who is going to better know what you want and need? He who heard your issue directly or he who got some feedback from staff? I think it is the Democratic Candidate for the 14th Congressional District Dennis Anderson. In November, vote for Dennis.
