A moment of silence for the victims of Paris terrorist attacks

By Chris La Pelusa

In addition to the masthead, you’ll notice the Sun Day is flying the French flag this print edition (behind the web address) to show our support for the people of Paris in the wake of the terrorist attacks on November 13.

Like most of the world, I watched the events unfold in Paris with grief and horror. After following the media coverage through the weekend and seeing the world’s support for the people of Paris, I’m dumfounded once again how terrorists don’t realize how futile their attempts to “terrorize” actually are. In fact, every time there’s a “reign of terror,” it seems the exact opposite of the intended purpose happens. Love. Support. Unity.

You’ll also notice this column is not running under my normal Happy Trails banner because I want to use this space and the brevity of this column as a reflection of a moment of silence for the victims of these brutal attacks. Sometimes being quiet is the greatest support you can give.

To the people of Paris, you are in our thoughts, hearts, and prayers.

You are not alone.
