One could think that I adopted the fire hydrant located in front of my house in Sun City. I voluntarily plow and shovel snow around it as my public service that could possibly help firefighters in an emergency. In return for that effort, I have requested the hydrant be given a fresh coat of red paint. My requests to the village maintenance people have fallen on deaf ears. I wonder if a word from you to them would help to get an old hydrant a fresh look.
