SUN CITY – A Woodstock man has been cited for dangerous driving after officials say he jumped a curb and drove through a local yard.
Deputy Chief Michael Klunk of the Huntley Police Department said police were dispatched to 12650 Cold Springs Drive shortly before 4 p.m. in the afternoon on June 25. Reports stated that a red car, later found to be a 2002 Ford Mustang, was abandoned after crashing into the front yard of the home.
“No occupants of the vehicle were located [at the scene], and several witnesses were spoken with. The homeowner was not home at the time of the crash and there was no vehicle contact with the home,” Klunk said.
The red Mustang was later towed away from the yard.
Dylan Derose, 20, was issued a court date of July 22 after the incident.
Witnesses reported that Derose left the scene of the accident in a different car and was located four days later, on June 29. Klunk said Derose was cited for “driving too fast for conditions.” He added that, although the weather was clear at the time, the road was wet, potentially causing the conditions that led to the incident.
