The Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) is returning to the Village for the 2023 season. The downtown area roughly bordered by Church, Coral, Woodstock and Dwyer streets including all of Main Street and the Village Square is included in DORA.
DORA allows for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages during select Village sponsored events. The special events include
• Concerts in the Square in June, July and August.
• Ladies Night Out in May and December.
• First Fridays on the Square in July, August and September
• The Hootenanny Glow 5k on September 9
• A Very Merry Huntley on December 2.
Other 2023 Special Events include Green and Clean Huntley Day in April; Huntley Kite Fest on May 13; Memorial Day Parade on May 29; Fourth of July Fireworks; National Night Out on August 1; Huntley Fall Fest at the end of September and the Farmers Market on Saturdays from May 27 to October 14.
A 2023 budget of $100,000 for the Village sponsored events has been established. The village will solicit support from local businesses to help sponsor events to offset costs. More than $16,300 was donated toward concerts and special events by Huntley businesses in 2022.
