Have you driven on Carmel Lane in Sun City since Plote and Huntley have rebuilt the curbs and repaved the street? Well, don’t be alarmed when you suddenly encounter bumps which Plote introduced about half way through your journey. Your tires are not the problem. Maybe they have been put there to keep drivers awake on such a lovely drive.
Contacts with Huntley’s public works director and his staff and the Village president reveal that our officials are virtually powerless in insisting on a good finished product. I have been told, “Don, that’s as good as it’s going to get” Apologists for Plote’s sloppy job, rather than advocating for the residents of Huntley. What??
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Poor quality work excused by a village staff which seem to be indifferent make the score…. Plote – one … residents – zero.
Ironically, the joints where the new meets the existing pavement on both ends, Clanyard Rd. and Redmond Dr., are as smooth as silk, as they should be. It’s possible, folks!
Another lesson which we should have learned in Civics class in school “You can’t fight city hall”
