After 22 years in Sun City my husband and I are mov ing to assisted living. This entire process of uproot ing a settled existence has only been possible with the incredible care and help from our neighbors. Whether it’s getting the mail, putting the trash out by the drive way, rides to various places, computer technology assistance, or simply moving items around for easier movement in the house, you can’t beat our friends. Karla and Dick London, Judy and Jerry Gronmeyer, Kathy Mulsoff, and Pete Kiolbassa have all stepped forward to provided needed assistance and advice. All their efforts have been deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten in the new stage of our life. While such a move is very wrenching emotionally, one can only say that the efforts of such gracious and thoughtful people has made it better.

I read many stories in “My Sun Day News” about the talented people who live in Sun City and share their talents with the community. I am particularly impressed by the dedication that Gloria Readus has shown by her work highlighting Black History. It is truly a labor of love for her to have presented her exhibit for two de cades. Today, perhaps more than ever, it is important to educate people about all aspects of American history. I had marked my calendar and fully intended to see her presentation, however, just days before, I came down with COVID. Because I could not attend, I was happy to read the article in “My Sun Day News.” Al though a “former teacher,” Gloria Readus is still edu cating people.
