Santa’s Dream Come True!

Snow is falling, eggnog lattes and milkshakes are in season, what could be better? Making cookies for Santa has remained a tried and true tradition for generations. Over the years, there have been new cookie cutter shapes, new recipes, etc., but Pillsbury quite recently released cookie dough that can be eaten right from the package! Every baker wants to try the dough before they bake the cookies because it is just so good. Now, Pillsbury made that a reality! Their dough can be eaten or baked (if it makes it that long). Look for the “Eat or Bake” logo on Pillsbury’s array of cookie dough flavors like peppermint, sugar, peanut butter, classic chocolate chip, gingerbread, and more. Why stress about making cookies and a mess when you can eat the cookie dough while baking them! Plus, they are refrigerated so they don’t all have to be made at once. Select flavors can be found at your local grocery store or on their website. Stock up and enjoy!

Let’s go to a show!

The nearby Woodstock Opera House is hosting the well-acclaimed duo Ryanhood for a night of holiday cheer with music “in memory of a local legend, Ed Hall”. December 23rd will be a night full of live music just in time for the holidays! According to their website, the show starts at 7:30pm. More information and tickets can be found on The Woodstock Opera House’s website. This close to home and affordable show can appeal to the masses and can make for wonderful memories in the Woodstock Square!

Worth the “Long” Drive

Historic Downtown Long Grove has a plethora of shops to find gifts for your loved ones (or even yourself) and beautiful festive decorations. Their website urges us to “step inside a real-life Christmas movie”. This must-experience town has many photo opportunities only around 45 minutes away from Sun City. Get all of your holiday shopping done and get rewarded! To say “thank you”, they want to give back. If you “collect receipts that total $150 (pre-tax and tip) from historic downtown Long Grove shops and restaurants, dated November 21–December 24, [you can] redeem them for a FREE Gift at our Visitors’ Center, located at 145 Old McHenry Rd.”. There are plenty of free souvenir gifts to choose from to remember your shopping trip! There is something for everyone to enjoy from eateries, coffee shops, wineries/breweries, boutiques, treats, “The Sock Monkey Museum”, and more! What a great place to experience. Hopefully your Thanksgiving was wonderful and happy holidays to you and yours.
