Seven years ago, when this NASA spacecraft was launched, my wife Mary and I witnessed its ascent into space at the Kenedy Space Center and wished it “Godspeed.” Along with thousands of cheering visitors that day and many in the country watching TV, we excitedly viewed and heard the spectacular, perfect, and right-on-time liftoff.
To celebrate the flyby of Earth by the OSIRIS-REx satellite, some of the world-wide followers of the NASA space program posted their smiling faces and waving hands on social media (Twitter: #HelloOSIRISREx) on September 22 of this year.
If you view the solar eclipse on August 21, you may be surprised by the awesome sight of “Solar Fire Crackers.”
The suddenness and wonder of the sights and sounds poured over all of us as hundreds of visitors in the tower watched the September 8 launch of this spacecraft for the Asteroid Sample Return Mission. We were just 2.3 miles from the launch pad and 50 feet above ground as the blastoff of the huge Atlas V rocket impacted our senses and our emotions.

Walking down the city streets that evening was exhilarating. I loved the city. There was the smell of fresh unleavened breads, herbs, and roasted lamb coming from the open windows of the houses. You could hear the sounds of wine being poured into cups and the hymns of the Passover meal being sung in each home.
The only job I knew was to clean the big stable that was in a cave close to the Inn. I loved animals and loved taking care of them – so, it was fun.
Some thought that November 11, ’11 was just a date of “all 11’s.”
Ah, breathe in the crisp fall air and the scent of fresh-baked Pumpkin Pie in anticipation of our Thanksgiving holiday. This traditional pie and holiday in the USA and Canada may bring back memories to you of some happy times, meals, conversations, friendships, and family.

Have you ever driven in a car when someone suddenly cuts in front of you, and then you or another passenger shouts out to the errant driver, “What’s the matter? Are you blind?” Well, you may want to think again before saying that in the future. It is doubtful that a good blind driver would cut in front of you like that, but there could be a blind driver driving a car.
