Telephone and email scams are everywhere these days. Ask virtually anyone you know, and they’ll tell you about a fraud attempt they have received or heard about. In Huntley, the police department, in the person of Sgt. Leonard Marak, is keeping Sun Citians aware regularly about the latest scam attempts.

Art in My Secret Garden

Waterfall repair project underway

Three of the biggest reasons why Sun City is such an attractive place are the three waterfall features that decorate the landscape.

The Huntley Area Veterans Memorial is nearly complete and a dedication ceremony is planned for Saturday, July 2 at 12 p.m. in the town square.

Wildflower Lake shoreline erosion repairs being discussed

There are two ways to take care of the Wildflower Lake shoreline in Sun City.

One of them is to prevent erosion by installing rocks or other hard material at the water’s edge. The other is to make the shoreline accessible and safe for persons of all ages so they can enjoy fishing and walking along the shoreline.

In an effort to assist people with physical limitations in developing countries, a local Hampshire, IL teenager, Sarah Carr, is collecting used orthotic braces used to treat scoliosis.
