Last year, the Sun City Concert Band brought in over 500 people with their concert featuring their greatest hits from their last 10 years of practicing. However, much has changed since last year’s performance, according to the group president, Jerry McClellan.
Now that the holiday season is upon us, let the shopping begin. Woodfield Mall is considered by many to be the place to check off items from your naughty and nice list. To peruse the mall’s great expanse thoroughly you must keep up your strength, and we have just the place for you, P. F. Chang’s Bistro.
I left the theatre slightly confused. I had just seen a terrific ensemble deliver a number of Oscar worthy performances, a highly innovative story line with one surprise after another, and everyone around me was grumbling about how terrible the show was. It was the profanity, so prevalent it was like a nasty virus slowly killing its’ host, and by the end, despite the brilliance, you were glad it was over.
The past two years have been so exciting, and now that we’ve achieved our goal of becoming a Low-Power FM station, we look forward to a great future of continuing to serve our community. But with this additional service comes some additional expenses.

One of our five beautiful daughters once said to me, “Dad, the last check you write should bounce.” Needless to say that would be the epitome of perfect planning and, while I pride myself on being prepared, that would be stretching it a bit. I have a dresser that needs the top refinished. It is 76″ X 20″. Do we have someone here in our community that I could hire to do this work or could you refer a company that does this kind of work? I would truly appreciate it because there are few companies that do this kind of work today.
The Lions of Sun City – Huntley will hold their eleventh annual tradition of lighting up Del Webb neighborhoods with luminaries on Christmas Eve.

Ushering in the sounds of the season, the Sun City Prairie Singers are set to perform their annual holiday concert this December, complete with standard classics and new twists.

Author Washington Irving once said of Christmas that it is a “season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.” And on December 4, members of the Sunflower Garden Club of Sun City will do just that, as the group hosts its fifth annual Holiday House Walk from 3 to 7 p.m. and five Sun City residents open their doors to the anticipated 300 eventgoers.
Another break-in occurred in Sun City the second week of November. This time, the offenders took advantage of the fact that the house backed up to open space and allowed them lots of privacy.
Those elves are at it again! The Sun City Woodchucks are hard at work crafting toys to put under the tree. It may not be the North Pole (although the temperatures feel like it!), but the Woodshop is bustling with activity this holiday season.
I was not the only person grumbling on the way out of the theater after seeing this disappointing production. There is a lot of hullabaloo about this movie, the trailers presenting an exciting and potentially rewarding science fiction thriller, an opinion shared by many of the big-time movie critics. Don’t get your hopes too high.

Attending the Sun City Art and Craft Faire is a highlight for my daughter Mary and I. We each thoroughly enjoy shopping for the upcoming holidays in this relaxing environment. Each of the gifts we purchase are handmade, reasonably priced, and absolutely beautiful.
