Millie’s sister, Georgia, called me to ask if I would be able to fly to Red Hook, New York, where Millie owned a small cottage. Georgia and the rest of her close-knit family knew of our trusting and loyal friendship since the early days of our youth. They themselves could not bear the task of going through her personal belongings.
On a chilly winter evening, Ben and his wife were snuggled together on the floor watching television. During a commercial break, he reached over and gave his wife’s foot a gentle squeeze.

In the cover story titled Campaign Trail, Open Forum Village Trustee Candidates, Part I of the March 24 edition of the Sun Day, we stated that the remainder of the article would be printed in full in the next edition on April 7, the current edition. This statement was printed in error, as at the time, the dates of publication for the Sun Day and for the elections for Village Trustee were unintentionally confused.
As the candidates for Huntley Village Trustees turn that last leg in the long mile to the April 11 elections, Sun Day reporter Mason Souza caught up with each and had the opportunity for a Q&A session in which he discussed their roles as trustees or future trustees and their personal perspectives on Sun City.

Yes, says Jack Bolger, coach of the Stingrays, who has been in aquatics as a competitor, water polo player, life guard, and coach for more than 50 years, and the answer lies under the water, or at least in a pool.

Owners and players are at it again, posturing and manipulating each other into another agreement about what to do with their billions. There is simply too much money involved in this equation to make an early agreement between the players union and owners possible. There is too much leverage available—off-season mini-camps, the college draft, and even pre-season training camps.

There are two types of gas water heaters used in Sun City. Up until about 2003, an open combustion-chamber water heater was used. Starting in 2003, the sealed combustion-chamber unit, aka Flammable Vapor Ignition Resistant (FVIR), was used. The purpose of the new safety standard is to prevent the ignition of any flammable liquids spilled or stored near a water heater. In the older open-combustion chamber water heaters, the combustion air entered directly into the combustion chamber.
