Battle of the Sexes – tennis match or soap opera?

The evening I saw this was a first for me in a number of ways. 1) First time I ever sat through a movie as the only person in the theatre. 2) First time I ever phoned anyone during a film. 3) First time I ever watched a football game while the movie was playing, (Bears-Packers), which actually many of you would prefer to forget. 4) First time I ever took my antacids during the movie rather than wait until I got home.

We used to do many activities together, but now it seems like we just exist. I’d like to help him stay in shape as well as participate in what he has always loved to do. How can I motivate him?

A time-honored tradition in most neighborhoods in Sun City is the monthly or bi-monthly ladies luncheon. One person is chosen as a scout to scour the countryside for a restaurant to descend upon. They make their choice, they send out the invitations, wait for the responses, and then let the games begin.

The Sunflower Garden Club of Sun City Huntley is hosting their 8th Annual Holiday House Walk for Charity

The 8th ANNUAL HOLIDAY HOUSE WALK FOR CHARITY will take place on Thursday, December 14 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Ticket cost is $10 per person and will include entrance to six beautifully decorated homes and a dessert reception at Fountain View on the day of the walk. New this year is a Raffle with dozens of prizes to be won. House Walk Tickets purchased by December 1st will receive one (1) free raffle ticket.

Mason jar mania

Forget fast food and BPA-laden food storage containers for good! Joyce Lande, certified nutritionist and Kitchen coach introduced some new ideas to Sun City residents in her class presentation “Mason Jar Food Fun.”

“I want to ensure nutritional meals for families. And I will show you with Mason jars some quick and easy meals snacks and desserts,” she said.

Today’s restaurant that we will be reviewing was brought to our attention by several of our loyal readers. Hopefully now they will stop nagging us, just kidding…This review is on Dominick’s Italian Ristorante in West Dundee.

Coming attractions

For the first time in a long while, there were no new releases in our area theaters last weekend. As a result, any movie I chose to comment on would already be at least two, more likely three weeks old by our publication date. That would be like finding a loaf of stale bread in your pantry; no interest.

The light bulb in the ceiling of my master bath shower is burned out. It is a 65w flood light bulb. It looks like a standard bulb, but shouldn’t it be some kind of special bulb because it can get wet in the shower?
