Huntley BINGO is a chance to have fun and support the local stores that make Huntley special.
Melissa Stocker, Marketing & Recruitment Specialist, said, “Ordering takeout from a favorite local restaurant, getting a haircut at a local salon or purchasing a gift card will now not only support the Huntley economy but will allow you to enter to win one of four prizes in the free city-wide Huntley Retail Bingo game. In the COVID-19 era Huntley, local small businesses are depending on residents for support to stay in business.”
Bingo is still one of the most popular games and forms of gambling played today. Bingo is estimated to be around 490 years old. The game was often used as a distraction and form of entertainment during the difficult interwar and post-war years. During that time, it also began to be used as a way to raise funds for community and charity projects.
Similarly, in this difficult time, Bingo is playing a role. Local businesses are trying to find ways to survive during the pandemic. The crisis prompted Huntley to play a game last summer that encouraged shopping local. The success of the game prompted the city to offer the game again.
Stoker said, “You can get playing card from the HuntleyFirst’s website, then check off a square after supporting a local business. The extra effort will go a long way to help our businesses.”
The Huntley BINGO game runs through December 7. Cards will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. that day. All eligible entries will be entered into a drawing with the winning entries to be pulled during the week of December 14th. The Game rules and card can be found here. BINGO!
