Sun City residents collect items for Grafton Food Pantry on Halloween

By Christine Such

On a cold wintery day, October 31, 2023, Mary Schlee and Sue Wallace provided Sun City residents with some hot beverages and donuts while collecting items for the Grafton Food Pantry.

The bursts of fall snow did not stop residents from dropping by and bring their donations.

Schlee said, β€œThe weather did not stop our neighbors from dropping by with their donations. We collected 66 sop bars and eight bottles of fluid soap, 100 rolls of toilet paper, 15 paper towels, 10 shampoos bottles, 64 tubes of toothpaste, 12 Kleenex boxes, 12 deodorants, and 60 travels size items.”

The treats were also donated by a neighbor.

Wallace said, β€œA neighbor brough over some containers of hot beverages and donuts, and we were treated with some great conversation with residents. We feel truly blessed to be part of such an incredible community.”
