Dancing with the Sun City stars

This June, the Sun City Strutters are putting on their twenty-first spring show, ‘Dancing With The Strutters.’ This show will be difference than all the rest.

Nancy Kutska is the director of Strutters and the producer of the show. Kutska said, “The show will feature jazz, tap, and ballet numbers. We will also have some guest performers.”

Thirty-five dancers participate in the show, and their skills range from beginning to intermediate and advanced levels.

Kutska said, “We are busy perfecting our routines led by our talented instructors.”

The show will also feature mother-and-daughter singers and a member of the Theatre Company.

Kutska said, “We love incorporating talent from our community. We have our first husband and wife who have joined the Strutters.”

Why dance? Dancing can improve your muscle tone, strength, endurance, and fitness. Dancing also improves brain function and boosts memory. Several studies have shown that dancing is linked to a reduced risk of dementia and is a great way to meet new friends.

Kutska said, “We also offer non-performance classes in jazz and ballet. The Strutters used to be a dance group. About six years ago, we were put under fitness.”

If you are interested or have any questions, please get in touch with Nancy Kutska at 847-346-5687.

The dates for the shows are Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. Cabaret-style reserved seating and a cash bar will be available. Tickets will be sold at the Meadow View Lodge and Prairie Lodge fitness desks starting May 1.
