Sun City’s recent Casino Night proved to be a success, drawing a packed house. The event sold out, with 402 tickets, making it one of the year’s best-attended events.
Gaming rooms and tables were packed all evening. The professional dealers from U.S. Poker & Casino Parties kept the night running smoothly and the atmosphere lively and engaging for everyone involved.
“We have received very positive feedback, and by all accounts, Casino Night was a tremendous success,” said Brian Gregory, Executive Director. “It’s exciting to see a new event that brought our community together for an evening of fun and connection. A huge thank-you to our Lifestyles Committee, staff, and all of the amazing volunteers whose time, energy, and hard work made this special night possible.”

Gregory, along with Administrative/Community Services Manager Liam Sullivan, ran the bingo games, calling out the numbers for the crowd gathered in the multi-purpose room.
“After our 25-year celebration a few years ago, a lot of residents asked for a casino event,” said Sheri Goldstein, Chair of the Lifestyles Committee. “I am so pleased that we were able to offer one that was so well attended. A big thank you to the Lifestyles Committee, staff, and volunteers who helped plan this event, worked tirelessly throughout it, and to those who attended and had a great time.”
The excitement extended well beyond the gaming tables to the dining room. Jameson’s Restaurant served a delicious buffet and sold 252 dinners. Jameson’s also offered a 20% discount on all restaurant dinners for casino ticket holders.
The night concluded with the prize drawings, where attendees walked away with over 20 premium prizes. Among the night’s biggest giveaways were a two-night stay at the Sofitel Hotel, an Apple Watch, a 55-inch flat-screen television, rounds of golf at Whisper Creek, Amazon Fire tablets, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, digital photo frames, and $100 gift cards from numerous local businesses.
Lifestyle Director Melissa Hornick said it was the most challenging event she had ever been involved with.
“Figuring out how to run the event required a lot of discussion with the casino company,” Hornick said. “Tanya Mishigian, Vice President of Sales for U.S. Poker & Casino Parties, walked Sheri Goldstein and me through the process and helped us every step of the way. Everything ran smoothly and as planned. Sponsors were happy and very generous. We received dozens of compliments throughout the night and afterward. I am happy to say the outcome exceeded my expectations.”
Members of the Lifestyles Committee include Chair Sheri Goldstein, Vice Chair Mary Pat Traiber, Recorder Dolores Fischer, Pat Bosi, Susan Caraher, Pat Huisinga, and Jackie Monilaw, along with staff Liaison Hornick and Board Liaison Art Ryden.
Lisa Elder, Marketing Director; Bob Laird, Advertising Sales Rep; and Sullivan provided additional administrative and promotional support. Elder took numerous photos that captured the night’s excitement.
Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback and immediate requests for an encore, the community is already looking forward to the next time Sun City rolls the dice.
Committee member Pat Bosi shared, “The lodge was full, the fun was big, and the jackpot was friendship. Thank you to everyone who made our October Casino Night a great success.”
