SUN CITY – Get ready for some dancing and dining. The Hoofers and Hunks are putting together a show that will both dazzle and amaze you with a few surprises to boot!

Sun City’s Hoofers & Hunks hit Drendel stage for some fun and colorful fancy footwork sure to tap you out of your seat with enjoyment.
The Sun City Hoofers is a group of women tap dancers, started several years ago by former teacher and dance instructor Sandy Oldhem. There are about 80 women in this club who have enjoyed the club so much, many of their husbands wanted in also. Because of the popularity and interest shown, Sandy formed The Hunks club for the men. There are about 12 male dancers who strut their stuff. Both groups have practiced long and hard, with Sandy choreographing all the moves and the dancers making all their costumes. Now, they invite you to see their fancy footwork.

The shows will include a wide variety of dancing to popular music from show tunes and musicals to songs on the radio. Music from “Grease,” “Billy Elliot,” and “Guys and Dolls” will be featured, along with “The Boys Are Back In Town,” “Born To Be Wild,” and “Secret Agent Man.”
Roni Schmidt, one of the Hoofers, enjoys dancing and is excited about this year’s performance.
“Tap dancing is good for the mind and body, and it helps in your coordination. Our groups are out there to just have a lot of fun. There [are] no tryouts; whoever wants to join us can just come to our practices.”
