Board reaches new decision for financial plan

This is a story about one of Sun City’s biggest controversies, which is now ending on a positive note. This issue is also playing a major role in the launching of one of the most significant new initiatives in the community’s governance history.

Waterfall repair project underway

Three of the biggest reasons why Sun City is such an attractive place are the three waterfall features that decorate the landscape.

One is at the Del Webb Boulevard entrance to the community on Route 47. Another is a small one next to the pond in front of the Prairie Lodge pavilion. It is visible as residents drive by on Del Webb Boulevard.

Veterans Memorial nears completion, dedication planned

The Huntley Area Veterans Memorial is nearly complete and a dedication ceremony is planned for Saturday, July 2 at 12 p.m. in the town square.

Wildflower Lake shoreline erosion repairs being discussed

There are two ways to take care of the Wildflower Lake shoreline in Sun City.

One of them is to prevent erosion by installing rocks or other hard material at the water’s edge. The other is to make the shoreline accessible and safe for persons of all ages so they can enjoy fishing and walking along the shoreline.

Board meeting addresses maintenance updates, hours of operation

The following is a report on the actions taken and the items discussed at the May 18 Sun City board of directors meeting. About 50 residents and governance volunteers attended the sessions in Drendel Ballroom in Prairie Lodge.
