Huntley business continues to rise

Remember the Hollywood movie star pictures in the former Powell’s car wash on Route 47 in Huntley? As you waited for your vehicle to be cleaned, you could reminisce at pictures of Marilyn, James Dean, Bogie, Elvis, etc. Powell’s has been gone for more than a year, and we miss the cinematic nostalgia. But is it possible that another film revival is coming to this site?

Breakfast with Santa

The annual Grandma, Grandpa & Me Breakfast with Santa will be held on Sunday, December 14 in Drendel Hall. The Breakfast Buffet is provided by Jameson’s. In addition to visiting with Santa, we will have entertainment and Holly Veach will once again be taking pictures. There are two seatings: 9-10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $16 adult (14 and over); $8 children ages 3-13; and children 2 and under are free, but still need a ticket.

Happy Birthday, Huntley Community Radio!

Two years ago, on Sept. 28, 2012, Huntley Radio (HCR) began streaming on the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It trained local residents and school and college students in the art of broadcasting.
