Your Community Radio Station has been broadcasting on 101.5 FM for nearly six months, and we’re getting busier and busier. By May, we’ll have 44 shows and more to come. And that’s great…but while there’s a lot to do, we just don’t have enough volunteers to get some of the jobs done.

The halls are alive with the sound of music! If you walk into Family Alliance’s new Huntley location’s building (just outside of Del Webb) at mid morning on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, you will indeed hear singing and musical instruments being played and the sound of both emitting from a support group meeting room.

The Corrections

It was a routine day at the Joliet Correctional Center reception area one day in 1980. David Grant was a sergeant involved in prisoner intake.

One of the most notorious and infamous serial killers in the nation’s history entered the facility. He had just been convicted and sentenced to death for killing 33 young boys over a span of a decade. His name was John Wayne Gacy. He was well known to Grant and other corrections officials at Joliet that day. Grant, a resident of Sun City since 2012, tells it this way.
