It’s January, the month when many Sun City seniors make their New Year’s 2015 resolutions! According to Suburban Senior’s Magazine (December 2014 to January 2015), “… a recent study found that 22 percent of people give up their resolution(s) within the first week. By the end of March, more than half of the people pledging New Year’s resolutions had fallen from the bandwagon.” How can we then make promises to ourselves that are practical and worth keeping, especially to help our body and mind health?

This December 18 edition marks the final edition of 2014. The Sun Day will resume its regular biweekly publication schedule with our January 15, 2015 edition. I recently had a spirited conversation with a Sun City resident in regards to the Sun Day’s content, specifically its blend of content. It was the caller’s opinion that the Sun Day doesn’t report enough Sun City items that would be deemed “news” or more accurately “hard news.”

In memoriam: Nancy P. Shadle

Nancy P. Shadle of Huntley passed away peacefully on November 12, at Journeycare Hospice in Woodstock. Nancy was born in Des Moines, Iowa.
