There are nearly 100 charter clubs and special interest groups at Sun City, and more activities are being thought up all the time. The latest? A crossword puzzle tournament.

Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming. Birds are singing, and two new churches are coming to the Sun City and Huntley area. Willow Creek Huntley will be based at the Huntley High School, and the Community Christian Church will be based in the Oak/Elm Room of the Meadow View Lodge in Sun City.
Sun City is an extremely active community, especially when it comes to fitness. But there’s a lot of people who don’t or are unable to exercise but wish they could.
This one comes from my percussion buddy, neighbor, and softball teammate, Jerry McClellan. Jerry writes:

Soon after the death of Millie Elgor, a dear friend of mine for many years, I found myself in a rather uncomfortable position. Millie’s sister, Georgia, called me to ask if I would be able to fly to Red Hook, New York, where Millie owned a small cottage. Georgia and the rest of her close-knit family knew of our trusting and loyal friendship since the early days of our youth. In the last issue, we wrote about the two types of storage tank water heaters used by Del Webb in Sun City, Huntley (open combustion and closed combustion). After 10-15 years of use, these water heaters will need to be replaced.
Owners and players are at it again, posturing and manipulating each other into another agreement about what to do with their billions. There is simply too much money involved in this equation to make an early agreement between the players union and owners possible. There is too much leverage available—off-season mini-camps, the college draft, and even pre-season training camps.

Senior service organization Faith in Action of McHenry County (FIAMC) is pleased to host its annual benefit dinner An Evening in Italy on Saturday, April 2.
